Rev. Daniel S. Burbage Named
as Additional Associate Pastor

Staff Pastor Parish Relations Chairman David Renaker announced in worship on Sunday, May 13 that the SC Conference of the United Methodist Church will appoint the Rev. Daniel S. Burbage as an Associate Pastor.  The appointment will be made official at the SC Annual Conference, which is the yearly meeting of the state organization of the UMC in Florence from June 10-13.  His first Sunday at St. Andrew will be July 8.

Burbage is coming to St. Andrew from St. Mark UMC in Columbia, where he has served for the past six years.  During that time, he transformed a dwindling congregation into to a thriving church with a great mission impact in the community. He is being appointed to St. Andrew to expand our church’s efforts in Evangelism and Missions, particularly in the greater Bluffton area.

Burbage and his wife, Kelley, have two children;  Henry, born near the first of the year, and a daughter, Campbell, who turns two this month. The family will reside in Bluffton.

Church-wide Confirmand Luncheon May 20

Confirmation is an exciting Sunday.  Several of our young people, who have set aside time to delve into the depths of Methodist Christian tradition, will make vows in extension of their baptism, surrounded by their family and friends and affirmed by the congregation.  This special time is an important transition in a young person's life, when they take up the faith for themselves and begin a walk of discipleship that lasts over the whole life of the person.
All Welcome to our Celebration.  Afterwards, the whole church is welcome to celebrate with our Confirmands in the Celebration Center after the 11:15 am service.  We will have a meal together with a short program to honor their decision and journey.
We will provide drinks, a desert, and an entree of Fried or Baked Chicken.  All who come, please bring a side dish or salad (Last Names A - M, bring side dish; Last Names N - Z please bring a salad).
