Counseling Center

Angie M. Elliott, LPC, is the counselor for the St. Andrew By-The-Sea Counseling Center.

Angie obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Counseling, both from Dallas Baptist University.  She is a fully licensed counselor in the State of South Carolina. 

In the past, Angie worked with the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center in Plano, TX, counseling children, adolescents and non-offending adults who faced the trauma of abuse and neglect.  Specifically trained in play therapy and crisis intervention, she used her skills to conduct play therapy sessions, marriage and family interventions, group therapy as well and individual therapy, and parenting education.  She also worked at the Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas as a Women’s and Children’s Therapist, counseling women, children, adolescents and families suffering from trauma often present in domestic violence relationships.  Angie also interned with the Collin Intervention Youth House in Plano providing crisis intervention to those presented with the challenges of abuse, family conflict, grief, drug and alcohol abuse or other destructive behaviors, and with the Professional Counseling and Assessment Center in Frisco, TX.   In addition, she served as a children’s crisis counselor for the Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas, collaborating with other hospitals and community coalitions. On Hilton Head, she has been a counselor for the ACTS Counseling and Training Center, for Hope Haven of the Lowcountry, and has been a director for a church preschool.

Angie also facilitates St. Andrew's Women at the Well Support Group for those facing miscarriage, still birth or infertility.

“My highest calling is to utilize my compassion for others, encouraging them to become more empowered and integrated spiritually, emotionally and physically,” says Angie. “ I am especially called to work in a Christian environment where I will be able to apply my counseling skills, diverse techniques and wealth of experience while pursuing my passion to be a vessel in restoring hope in the lives of others.”
