Name: Daniel Griswold

Status: Director of Youth

Bio: I came to St. Andrew By-The-Sea to be the Director of Youth Ministries August 2009. My primary focus is to help youth become lifelong disciples of Christ - to walk in the dust of our Teacher, Jesus. I love teaching and experiencing Confirmation each year, I love our Middle Schoolers (Surf Youth), and we are all excited to have ACDC High School (Awesome Christian's Digging Christ) students getting together. God is good and doing great things.  I met my wife Amanda in college - and can't believe how blessed I am.  I love to serve God, families and have a deep joy in good music and the arts.

Name: Tina Johnson

Status: High School Volunteer, Sunday School Leader

Bio: Moved from Indianapolis to Hilton Head with my daughter,  Tiffiny, in 1993 (Tiff was 10 yrs old).  Joined St. Andrew in  1995 and became involved with the Stephen Ministry Program for  3 years.  Tiffiny was involved with the youth group while in school and we have both had a great support system through our  church family.

Favorite Food: Italian

Favorite Music: Very versatile range of favorites:  Standards  (Rosemary Clooney, Michael Buble'), Jazz (Louis Armstrong, Harry Connick, Jr),  Soft Rock Classics (Eagles, Journey), Rock/Pop (Daughtry), Classical/Pop  (Josh Groban), Classical, Christian  and Country.

Top Movies: Indiana Jones, True Lies, Titanic and the  very thought provoking, What Dreams May Come.

Why are  you a Surf Leader?   They say it takes a  village to raise a child, which I truly believe.  I was a single  mom who had the assistance of my church family while raising my  daughter.  Now that she has grown, my involvement in the Surf  program will give me a chance to "give back" or, perhaps more  accurately, to "pay it forward".

BioMarried to Dan the man, so I came to St. Andrew By-The-Sea with him.  I am originally from North Carolina, Hertford and Outer Banks area but lived in Panama City, FL during middle and high school.  I studied Broadcast Communications at Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL and that is where I met Dan.  I loved the time I spent at Flagler and wish I could still survive on $50 a month!  I also loved the time we spent at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.  We tried to spend as much free time as possible wondering around Boston and we met many great people.  We are really enjoying our time in South Carolina, Dan and I both have large families with four siblings each and we love when family and friends come to visit and we do have more visitors now that we live in Bluffton, right off of Hilton Head Island! We
love this community!  I enjoy traveling, reading, surfing, water sports, walking/hiking, biking and crafty things.

Why are you a Surf Leader:  I started attending church when I was 15 after a friend invited me to a youth group event and became a Christina on my 16th birthday.  If it had not been for a 15 year old kid inviting me to church and caring leaders and members of that church I'm not sure how many more years I would have spent not knowing the love and forgiveness of Jesus.  In my teens and early 20's I knew that I would always be involved in a youth group on some level, prayer, volunteering, ect.  When I met Dan in college he was a graphic design major but a short while after we were engaged he felt a calling into youth ministry, and I ended up more involved in youth ministry than I ever thought possible. God has a way of placing us where we are most needed.  Youth group had an amazing impact on my life and I am blessed and excited to be a part of God's plan in others lives.
